VMI’s History

VMI was created in 1945 and since then hasn’t stopped evolving and adapting to the constraints of technological evolution. Always serving innovation, the company has today become an  undisputed expert in mixing equipment.

1945

Establishment of HERVOUET-PAUVERT, a general engineering company, as a subcontractor for local outsourcers

1960

The company takes up the name of VENDÉE MECANIQUE

1965

Manufacturing of the first laboratory mixers for cosmetics: Turbotests

Anciens pétrins Phebus

1978

Orientates its know-how towards the manufacturing of kneaders for bread making and takes over the MAHOT & PHEBUS brands

1980

Launching of TRIMIX, a patented, three-movement mixer

1985

The company’s registered name becomes VMI

Anciens pétrins Mahot

1986

Acquisition of the REX brand

1988

First automated kneading system

1989

VMI takes over the RAYNERI company, a specialist in industrial mixing

Launching of VERYMIX, the patented continuous kneader

1998

The  Bretèche Industrie group, now LINXIS Group, acquires VMI

2001

First cooled bowl, batch kneader VERYMIX III, a horizontal vacuum mixer

First automated staged fermentation system (SAFE)

2010

New concept of vacuum introduction in the center of the emulsifier

2012

Launching of ULTIMIX, a bridge planetary mixer with patented, flush sealed box

Launching of vertical mixer with double tools, KNEADSTERRobotized mixing system with suspended shuttle

Launching on the market of CONTINUUM, the first continuous vacuum kneader

Launching of MULTILAB, laboratory vacuum mixer homogenizer for the cosmetics industry

2017

VMI moves to a new, purpose-built, 13,000 sqm plant

Creation of VMI North America Corp. subsidiary
